The discrepancy of algorithms is a real concern for

health care providers and has been documented by

the Vascular Risk Foundation VARIFO (pdf).

This website allows you to immediately perceive differences in projected outcome and treatment recommendations. Using additional risk stratification tools (link), e.g. atherosclerosis imaging, you may solve the problem for your patients.

There are many new features, amongst the NEW

PROCAM RISK point score, that features a risk

for STROKE and allows you to calculate

risk up to the age of 75 YEARS.

HINT: you may figure out the biological age of your patient and calculate the risk reduction if risk factor goals were

achieved.

How to operate our Risk Calculator

Just enter your values once on the first left field.

The rest will be autofilled in.

1. Select Sex and menopause

2. Enter age

3. Enter lipid values

4. Eventually change lipid units

5. Enter blood pressure

6. Select smoking status, Diabetes and Family,

     history of premature CAD

7. If available enter value for CRP or hsCRP

8. Select adjustment factor for Switzerland (usually 0.7)

9. Click on the buttons PROCAM, SCORE and REYNOLDS

10. Result is now avalable. For Switzerland look for the field

       CH or LRP (low risk population).

11. Leave selection of AGLA for Switzerland.
